The 2024 1/10 oz Gold Eagle is the smallest fractional gold coin in the series and is minted of 22-karat gold, which adds rigidity and durability to the coins, making them more resistant to scratching or dings from handling. Introduced in 1986, the Gold Eagle is the official gold bullion coin of the United States and is available in multiple denominations.
The front design of the 2024 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle coin is based on Augustus Saint-Gaudens' full-length figure of Lady Liberty that first appeared on the $20 Double Eagle.
She is the personification of freedom and the American Spirit and is portrayed with flowing hair, while holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The U.S. Capitol building can be seen in the background, and the 2024 year of mintage is also displayed. Around the upper rim, "LIBERTY" is inscribed.
The reverse, designed by Jennie Norris and Renata Gordon, portrays the head of a male eagle being vigilante, watchful and observant. The reverse also includes inscriptions that include the country, mottos and legal tender face value of $5.
